Located just behind Kinkerstraat in Oud-West, De Hallen is a former 19th century tram depot that’s been lovingly converted into a beautiful cultural complex housing an arty cinema, independent stores, a hotel, restaurants and the very excellent indoor food hall, Foodhallen.
Indoor food hall in Amsterdam
In the Foodhallen you’ll find around 30 street food stalls serving up some of the most delicious bites in Amsterdam, as well as a variety of bars including a craft beer bar, Gin & Tonic bar, wine bar and a main bar serving your usual stuff. Get a table, do a lap, and make your choice.
We love the Foodhallen by day and night, and it’s a great place for a casual, affordable feed if you don’t want the formality of a sit-down restaurant meal.
Local goods market at De Hallen
There’s a lovely local goods market that takes place twice a month in the passageway of De Hallen – check the Facebook page to see if it’s on during your visit. Highly recommended for a mooch!
