Aah. Lovely Hannekes. One of our favourite places in Amsterdam to while away a summer afternoon and evening, Hannekes Boom is a colourful shack style bar by the water behind Nemo (that big green building that looks like a ship).
The bar has a massive outdoor terrace with a beachy vibe which gets packed in the summer months. There’s also plots of space to moor boats, so there’s a constant stream of people turning up in their boats, staying for a few, then heading off. In the evening things get magical with colourful fairy lights, great DJs and a festival atmosphere.
There’s really not much else to say. It’s just a very special place, so go there.
